Labor endorsements in May municipal elections
In a time of historic challenges, we need leaders who are ready to step up and take them on at all levels of government.
After meeting with dozens of candidates running for city council and school board in the upcoming May elections across the Texas Gulf Coast, our COPE endorsement committee has announced endorsements in critical races.
It’s essential that we show up for every election and vote for candidates committed to fighting for working people.City councils and school boards make important decisions that impact our lives in many ways.
- Deciding how to prioritize spending and setting budgets
- Determining workplace standards for city workers, teachers and support staff, and workers on public construction projects, and
- Working with community groups and unions to identify and enact policies that help to improve our lives
Early voting starts April 24th, and Election Day is May 6th — mark your calendars and make your plan to vote!
